Are Jihadi Commanders Being Targeted in Pakistan?
According to credible sources, a systematic campaign to eliminate individuals with jihadi backgrounds has been ongoing in Pakistan for the past three years. A few months ago, security agencies dismantled a network, which during interrogation revealed that they had been hired by Indian intelligence agency RAW in the UAE.
So far, over 16 individuals who were previously associated with jihad in Kashmir have been assassinated. Even those who took strict security measures and frequently changed their locations have not been spared.
Many were killed inside mosques during prayers.
Some were assassinated despite maintaining high security.
Others were targeted even after constantly shifting locations.
Murder of Mufti Shah Mir Bizenjo in Balochistan & Allegations of RAW’s Involvement
Last week, The Times of India reported that Mufti Shah Mir Bizenjo was targeted in Turbat, Balochistan. According to the newspaper, he played a pivotal role in the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. Indian media alleged that Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, abducted Jadhav from Iran with Mufti Shah Mir’s assistance.
On Friday night, unidentified gunmen shot and killed Mufti Shah Mir Bizenjo in a volatile area of Balochistan.
Implications & Concerns
The growing pattern of targeted assassinations raises serious questions:
Are these killings part of an international conspiracy?
Are they a continuation of RAW’s covert operations in Pakistan?
Or is a local network executing these assassinations?
These questions have become a major challenge for Pakistan’s security agencies. In response, security forces have launched comprehensive investigations and are introducing new security measures to counter the escalating wave of targeted killings.
