In its official statement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that news circulating about an internet shutdown is “baseless, incorrect, and contrary to facts.” According to the regulator, such reports do not reflect the actual situation and have no factual basis.
The PTA clearly stated that there is no plan to suspend or disrupt internet services in any part of the country. It emphasized that users should not be concerned about service availability, as internet connectivity remains unaffected nationwide.
The authority confirmed that routine repair work on an international submarine cable is currently underway. However, it stressed that this maintenance activity will not impact internet services in Pakistan. The PTA noted that adequate arrangements have already been put in place to ensure continuity of services during the repair process.

According to the statement, internet services are fully functional and stable across the country. The regulator reassured users that network performance is being closely monitored to prevent any inconvenience to consumers.

The authority highlighted that constant observation of network performance is part of its standard operational procedure, particularly during routine infrastructure maintenance activities.
Reiterating its position, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority stated that maintaining reliable and uninterrupted communication services remains its top priority. The authority assured the public that all necessary measures are in place to ensure that internet services continue smoothly despite ongoing submarine cable repairs.
