The conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel has intensified as military operations and retaliatory attacks continue across the Middle East. The crisis began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched a large-scale joint military campaign targeting Iranian military and nuclear-related facilities. The operation aimed to weaken Iran’s missile programme and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.

In response, Iran reportedly launched a massive retaliation, firing around 2,000 drones and 500 missiles toward American military bases located in several Arab countries. Many of the incoming projectiles were intercepted by regional air defence systems, but the attacks heightened tensions across the Gulf and threatened the stability of the wider Middle East.

Meanwhile, US officials claim that American forces have struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran during the first 10 days of the war, including missile launch sites, air defence systems, military communications facilities, and naval assets.

Political tensions have also escalated. Former US President Donald Trump reportedly expressed disappointment over the rise of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s new supreme leader following the conflict. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Trump, urging a rapid end to the war to prevent further regional instability.

The situation remains volatile, with continued strikes, retaliatory attacks, and growing international pressure for de-escalation.
