Missile Strike Hits Residential Area in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Kharj, Two Killed and 12 Injured

 
Riyadh, March 8, 2026: A military projectile struck a residential building in the city of Al-Kharj, south of the Saudi capital Riyadh, causing casualties and damage to nearby facilities, Saudi authorities confirmed on Sunday.
 
According to official sources, the projectile hit a residential structure and also damaged a nearby sanitation facility along with surrounding houses. Two people were killed in the incident, including an Indian national and a Bangladeshi national, while at least 12 others were injured.
 
Emergency and civil defense teams rushed to the site immediately after the strike, evacuating residents, providing medical assistance to the injured, and securing the affected area. Several nearby buildings sustained structural damage from the impact.
 
Saudi officials said an investigation is underway to determine the exact nature and origin of the projectile.
 
The incident comes amid rising regional tensions in the Middle East, following reports of missile launches attributed to Iran targeting locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the ongoing regional conflict.
 
Authorities in Riyadh said security forces remain on high alert as they monitor the situation closely. Further updates are expected as investigations continue and damage assessments are completed.
