It is heartbreaking to hear about the 5-year sentence given to Khadija Shah in the May 9th case.

A young, talented entrepreneur who has contributed so much to Pakistan’s fashion industry is now facing such harsh injustice. This is not only unfair to her as an individual, but also a blow to the spirit of women who dare to dream and build something meaningful in our country. May she find strength and resilience in this difficult time, and may justice prevail soon.

We strongly condemn the 5-year sentence handed to Khadija Shah in connection with the May 9th case. This is a grave injustice to a young and dynamic entrepreneur who has made valuable contributions to Pakistan’s fashion industry. Punishing her so severely sets a dangerous precedent against women who aspire to build and lead.

We urge the authorities to revisit this decision and ensure that justice, fairness, and human dignity are upheld.Khadija Shah’s experience—marked by repeated arrests, detentions without conviction, and administrative remands—demonstrates the vulnerability of women entrepreneurs in politically charged climates.

When legal systems become tools for intimidation more than justice, the consequences ripple out into the business community at large.

For women entrepreneurs, these are not abstract risks—they are existential threats. To protect and nurture female-led innovation, it’s vital that:

● Judicial safeguards are upheld.
● Administrative detention powers are clearly defined and not used as deterrent tools.
● Political expression is not criminalized.
● Businesses led by women are viewed as vital assets, not convenient targets.

As woman my heart goes out to Khadija Shah. Sentenced to 5 years in the May 9th case, her only “crime” was being a strong, independent entrepreneur with a vision for Pakistan.

This injustice is beyond painful — not just for her family, but for every woman who dreams of making a difference. May she find strength in this dark time, and may true justice find its way back.
