The feminization of poverty is used to refer to the increasing proportion of the nation’s poor who are females. Globally, about half of women in poverty age are in “transition”, coping with an economic crisis caused by the departure, disability, or death of a husband. The other half tend to be economically dependent either on the welfare or friends, or relatives living nearby.

A key factor in the feminization of poverty has been the increase in families with women as single heads.

Not surprisingly, the life chances of these low-income families are far from ideal. Children whose mothers live in poverty run an increased risk of birth defects and malnutrition. They are likely to fare poorly in elementary school and drop out high school than are children from other kinds of families.

Low- income single mothers suffer higher level of stress than other and are much less likely to receive adequate health care. it must be emphasized that poor women share any social characteristics with poor men, low educational attainments , lack of market –relevant job skills and residence in economically deteriorating areas.

However, in the view of conflict theorist, the higher rates of poverty among women can be traced to three distinct cases. Because of the difficulty in finding out affordable child care, sex discrimination on the job and sexual harassment, women are at a clear disadvantage in the labor market in terms of both horizontal and vertical social mobility. The burden of supporting a family is especially difficult for single mothers not only because of low salaries but also because of inadequate child support. Welfare payments to single mothers remain far from adequate.

The true remedy for the nation’s poverty will require q more significant restructuring and redistribution of wealth and incomes. During the last decade, female headed families have an increasing proportion of Pakistan, low income population. This trend witnessed in developing countries also. The main reason behind this sketch is lack of income. Income deprivation restricts women from getting resources and converting their monetary resources into socioeconomic status.

The other main reason is globalization it deals with concept how today everything has become digitized. How technology has taken over everything. In Pakistan, according to research base data more than 75% of the group is surviving in poverty and the percentage of women and girls in this is bigger than men.

One more thing is raising the volume of this issue is divorce rates, due to this a male -headed household transforms into female –headed household. Factors concerned in countryside poverty range from bad climate to poor infrastructure. Vulnerable groups such as females –headed households, children and race, ethnic, religious or national minorities are especially likely to be deprived.

Poverty is affecting most are children, solo parents, special needs persons and people in household in which no one is active are more likely to taste poverty, to stay in poverty for longer and to taste deeper poverty than others.

Situational poverty is generally caused by a sudden loss and is often temporary but not the others like rural, urban, relation, absolute, and generational poverty are not temporary.

Women in Pakistan are suffering a triple burden in Pakistan. 1st is the household chores that they do as responsibility free of charge, 2nd is numerous years that women lost in child bearing and 3rd their productive works goes unaccounted of such as picking crops..

This all evidence shows that in Pakistan women does taste poorer poverty than men. Along with this all they are suffering from lack of advantage ownership, knowledge, basic education, and lack of benefits for women rural agriculture workers, lack of recognition of women –headed chores and those who are occupied in home based business in urban areas.

These all problems of feminization of poverty should be addressed affectively through social and protection measures and the need to affirm rights such as inheritances, property, attractive wages, day providence of healthy public day care centers with economical charges and livestock. We as an Islamic State should be more dynamic and practical to sort out all such issues which are barriers in the ways of female –headed so they can easily and more proficiently support their families and would be able to bring up their kids as constructive ,healthy members of community taking as religious duty also.

Poverty is parent of crime until we solve the masculinity of wealth.
