Shehersaaz and UN-Habitat jointly organized an event to mark the World Environment Day 2023 with theme “Solution to Plastic Pollution” at NUST University.
A comprehensive discussion was carried out to highlight issues related to climate change.
Country Program Manager – UN Habitat Pakistan, Jawed Ali Khan was the chief guest.
He said that, “We have to change the mind set of people if we want to apply what’s written in the books and help create a safer environment for our future generation”.
Participants including Children who Participated in Zero Waste Day Art competition were awarded with shields.
A special Green tribute was paid to the Gardeners, sanitary workers and forest guards who help beautify our cities and are an integral part of keeping the environment safe and clean.
Guests were awarded souvenirs and beautiful clay pots.
- Imran Hashmi, Tenured Professor & Associate Dean, IESE, Rina Saeed Khan, Chairperson, Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, Dr Hira Amjad, Assistant Professor SCEE, Dr. Beenish Kulsoom, Lead Local Governance Program, Shehersaaz were also present on the occasions while Dr. Mansoor Ali; Team Lead, Waste Burning Program, Royal Academy of Engineering, UK attend the event via zoom.
