ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s designated Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Rajeh bin Tami Al-Buqmi, arrived in Islamabad on Saturday morning to take up his new diplomatic assignment.

He was received at the airport by Saudi Chargé d’Affaires Naif bin Hamoud bin Malafekh and other officials of the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad.

Dr. Al-Buqmi is scheduled to formally assume charge of his office on Monday.

A retired Major General of the Saudi Armed Forces, Dr. Rajeh bin Tami Al-Buqmi is a senior Saudi diplomat with extensive experience in defence and security affairs. His professional background includes both military service and diplomatic responsibilities.

His appointment comes as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to maintain close bilateral relations, with cooperation spanning political, economic, defence and security matters.

Dr. Al-Buqmi’s arrival is expected to mark the beginning of his formal diplomatic engagement in Pakistan, including efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries.
