Pakistani-Origin World Bank Advisor Tariq Malik Recognized Among World’s Top 25 Experts

Tariq Malik, a Pakistani-origin global expert, former Chairman of NADRA, and currently an advisor to the World Bank, has been internationally recognized as one of the top 25 experts in the field of digital identity and public infrastructure.

In acknowledgment of his expertise, services, and contributions, his name has been included among the world’s leading specialists in this domain. The names and images of these 25 distinguished experts will be showcased on May 4 at Times Square, New York, on the screen of the globally renowned electronic stock exchange, NASDAQ.

The selection was made by Okta, a globally recognized platform specializing in digital identity, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Okta identified 25 individuals worldwide whose work has significantly influenced the fields of digital identity, security, and digital trust.

Tariq Malik, son of prominent Pakistani scholar Fateh Muhammad Malik, has previously served in the United Nations before taking on his current role as a technical advisor at the World Bank. He is also credited as the architect of the digital system behind the Benazir Income Support Programme.

During a private visit to the United States, the late Benazir Bhutto met Tariq Malik and encouraged him to return to Pakistan and contribute to national development. Following this, he brought his expertise back to Pakistan and played a key role in advancing the country’s digital governance systems.
