The bustling heart of Sargodha, with its vibrant streets and lush greenery, houses the Main Campus of the University of Sargodha, a place filled with academic energy. This was my world, my comfort zone. However, the day I was assigned to teach LLB Second Semester students at Iqbal Campus, I found myself leaving behind the liveliness of Main Campus and boarding a university bus towards the peripheries of Sargodha City.
As the bus rolled through the city and then into its quieter outskirts, I felt a lingering uncertainty. A 25 minute journey later, we reached Iqbal Campus, a place that, at first glance, appeared distant and almost isolated. The absence of the usual academic hustle, the lush green gardens, and the towering buildings of the Main Campus made the new setting feel almost unfamiliar. My initial reaction was one of concern. Had I made the wrong decision by stepping away from the Main Campus? Would this campus, seemingly cut off from the academic vibrancy I was used to, live up to the expectations of an institution nurturing future lawyers?
But then, something remarkable happened.
As I walked through the campus, I was met with curious yet respectful students, eager to introduce themselves and share their experiences. The classrooms were filled with a sense of discipline and focus that was inspiring. When I began my lectures, I noticed something extraordinary, as these students were not just attending classes for the sake of attendance but they were also actively engaged in learning. Their questions reflected deep thought, their arguments were well-structured, and their commitment to legal education was unwavering.
Within days, my initial doubts had started to fade. The students’ dedication to legal studies, their enthusiasm for debates, and their respect for knowledge changed my perception entirely. It was clear to me that Iqbal Campus was not a place of isolation but of immense potential.
Adding to this transformation was the remarkable administration of Iqbal Campus. The faculty was highly supportive, ensuring that both students and teachers had a smooth academic experience. The management, despite being located away from the central hub of the university, ensured that no student felt disconnected from the larger academic community. From organizing co-curricular activities to providing academic resources, the administration of Iqbal Campus functioned with remarkable efficiency and dedication.
One particular instance that deeply moved me was a debate competition organized by me to decipher the potential of students. Watching them argue with the confidence of seasoned lawyers was a moment of immense pride. Their ability to think critically, construct arguments, and defend their positions reminded me why I chose to teach in the first place. I saw in them the future of the legal profession, and I felt honored to be a part of their academic journey.
It was then that I truly realized the significance of this place. Iqbal Campus was not just another campus but it was a training ground for future legal minds, a fortress of knowledge, and a testament to academic resilience. It was a place where law wasn’t just studied; it was lived.
From that day forward, I no longer viewed Iqbal Campus as a mere extension of the university. I saw it as an institution with its own unique strength and identity. I had arrived there with hesitation, but I now embraced it with a sense of belonging. It is no longer just a distant branch but it is the “Lawyers’ Outpost.”
If you are a student aspiring to pursue law, I wholeheartedly recommend Iqbal Campus of the University of Sargodha. This is where legal minds are shaped, where commitment meets knowledge, and where dedication is rewarded with excellence. I am proud to have been a part of this journey, and if given a choice, I would always wish for students and campuses like this.
So, to all aspiring lawyers out there, the Lawyers’ Outpost awaits you!
