In a dramatic turn of events, an opposition Member of Parliament threw eggs at Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti during a parliamentary session. The incident triggered high tension inside the assembly hall as opposition members voiced strong protests against the government.

According to international media reports, the incident took place during an official sitting of the parliament when opposition MP Time Kadrijaj directly targeted Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. The lawmaker, who belongs to the Alliance Party, hurled four eggs toward Albin Kurti while chanting “Shame, Shame” on the floor of the house.

Controversy Over Speaker Election:

Media reports highlighted that the confrontation erupted after Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti requested additional time to elect the assembly speaker. Kosovo has been unable to elect a parliamentary speaker since the general elections held in June, leading to a prolonged political impasse.

Violation of Constitutional Deadline:

On the other hand, opposition parties strongly rejected the request for more time, asserting that the deadline mandated by the Constitutional Court had already expired. Consequently, the opposition declared the ongoing parliamentary session unconstitutional and demanded an immediate resolution to the deadlock.
