Authorities have imposed Section 144 in Dera Ismail Khan amid rising security concerns, restricting movement on several key roads and sensitive areas across the district.

According to officials, the restrictions will remain in place from 6am to 6pm, during which passenger vehicles, cargo transport and motorcycles will not be allowed on designated routes.

Major roads including Dera–Tank Road, Kulachi–Hathala Road, Kot Attal Road and Garah Abdullah Road will remain closed during the restriction period.

However, emergency services such as ambulances, fire brigade vehicles and law enforcement agencies will be exempt from the ban.

The decision comes as security forces continue operations against militant groups following recent cross-border tensions with militants based in Afghanistan.

Authorities say the measures are aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety.
