A Chinese company has introduced what it calls the world’s first robot phone, a device that stands apart from conventional smartphones due to its highly unusual design and camera mechanism.

Unlike ordinary smartphones currently available in the market, this device is not positioned as a standard handset. It has been described as a robot smartphone and is currently presented as a concept design. According to the company, a commercial version of the phone is expected to be launched in the coming weeks.

The most striking feature of this robot phone is its unique gimbal mechanism. Instead of a fixed rear camera, the device includes a concealed robotic arm that emerges from the back of the phone. This arm supports the primary camera and allows it to rotate freely, enabling 360-degree photo and video recording.

This innovative design makes the device particularly suitable for live streaming and recording from different angles without the need to move the phone itself. The gimbal mechanism allows the robotic arm to travel from the left side to the right side, offering enhanced flexibility in camera movement.

The company has chosen to keep most of the phone’s technical specifications confidential. As a result, details such as the type of sensor used in the camera module have not been disclosed. However, it has been confirmed that the robot phone includes a star-tracking mode, adding another distinctive feature to its camera system.

In addition to capturing photos and videos, the primary camera mounted on the robotic arm can also be used for selfies and video calls. Beyond this advanced setup, the phone also features two additional cameras on the back, which function like those found on regular smartphones and can be used for standard photography and video recording.

The concept design of the robot phone was showcased in Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show, drawing attention for its unconventional approach to smartphone design. The company has announced that the device will be officially introduced in March at the Mobile World Congress.

With its robotic arm-based camera and rotating gimbal mechanism, the robot phone represents a notable departure from traditional smartphone designs and highlights a new direction in mobile technology innovation.
