FRANKFURT, June 26 – Pakistani social and political activist Samreen Khan Ghauri recently concluded a high-profile visit to Europe, where she represented Pakistan at two prestigious international leadership programs. One of the key highlights of her visit was her participation in the European Youth Event (EYE 2025) held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, on June 13.

Samreen addressed a global audience of youth leaders, policymakers, and civil society actors at the EYE forum, sharing perspectives on inclusive democracy, women’s empowerment, and youth political engagement from Pakistan’s context.
“It was a profound honor to speak at the European Parliament on behalf of Pakistan,” she said. “Such platforms offer a critical opportunity to bring our voices and experiences to the global stage.”

Prior to the EYE event, Samreen took part in the Advance Leadership Programme in Mainz, Germany, held from June 11 to 17. The initiative brought together emerging political leaders from across Asia and Europe to enhance their understanding of parliamentary democracy, political party systems, and policy-making.

The European Youth Event, held biennially, is the European Parliament’s flagship youth initiative, attracting thousands of participants worldwide to exchange ideas on climate justice, governance, technology, and peacebuilding.

Samreen, who serves as the Executive Director of Social Development Enterprise and is a seasoned SBCC (Social and Behavior Change Communication) specialist, along her political career, emphasized the importance of international collaboration and learning.

“Engaging with youth leaders from diverse regions deepens our shared understanding and provides fresh ideas that can strengthen grassroots efforts at home, especially around women’s and youth political inclusion,” she added.

Her participation marks a significant moment for Pakistani civil society, particularly for efforts focused on gender equity and youth leadership on global platforms.
