ISLAMABAD: Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed has been appointed as the new president of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), according to an official notification issued by the university on April 29, 2025.
The decision was taken during the 17th (special) meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees, held on March 25 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by the President of Pakistan in his capacity as Chancellor of the university.
Dr Alahmed’s appointment will take effect from April 29 and will be for a term of four years, in accordance with Section 13(1) of the IIUI Ordinance 1985.
The notification was issued by Attique ur Rehman Chughtai, Director of Human Resource Management & Development (HRM&D). Copies of the notification have been circulated to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, relevant federal and provincial education ministries, the Higher Education Commission, vice chancellors of all public sector universities, and other stakeholders.
