China’s courier company Cainiao Network has launched a driverless delivery vehicle at a university in Hunan Province. The vehicle helps with contactless parcel delivery in the context of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control. Cainiao Network staff and Cainiao station operators can check the real-time location of the vehicle and the fulfillment of orders through an App.” He added.Guo Weiting, a student at Central South University of Forestry and Technology said “The Singles’ Day is approaching and I’ve done a lot of shopping online. “Usually, I have to go to Cainiao station under the bridge to pick up my packages, which takes about 20 minutes to go back and forth. Today, I go my parcels directly at my dormitory which is very convenient.” “At the same time, I also feel that autonomous driving has already entered our life.” She concluded. A total of 350 such self-driving delivery vehicles will be in use across the country around this year’s Singles’ Day, covering more than 70 cities and over 200 universities.
