The constant advancement of the Taliban in Afghanistan has stunned the Americans and their allies; sparked concerned in the region. Right now one after another the capitals of 11 provinces has fallen under Taliban control with Afghan elite and corrupt politicians including in the government leaving the country. The Afghan national security force has surrendered the cities before giving a contest.
At one place the US has warned the Taliban for action if necessary, however, for smooth evacuation of the troops and the American citizens, the govt officially requested the Taliban leaders to leave the US embassy working while the airport in Kabul will be operated under US Army as the Taliban aims for Kabul control.
Under these circumstances, the dark nights ahead of the common citizens of Afghanistan. Although elite members of the society blaming Pakistan for the chaos after Pakistan being supportive in whatsoever way possible. Pakistan and its officials have denied the request of refugees from Afghanistan concerning its own national security and economic difficulties.
Twenty years of continuous war ends with the ultimate defeat of the US and its allies. The lives, money, and recourses allocated have gone in vain. Taliban are now a bigger threat to not only the US but Pakistan and surrounding countries.
Should Pakistan be prepared for what’s coming for us after the falling of Kabul? I think yes, the border fences and check posts were an excellent and timely initiative yet we cannot ignore the threat and admirers of the Taliban within the country.
