Spokesman of the Iranian Parliament presiding board Asadollah Abbasi said some 47 Iranians have been affected by coronavirus of whom 12 have lost their lives.
Speaking to reporters, Abbasi said that based on the report presented by Iranian Health Minister Saeed Namaki said most of the cases who have been hospitalized in the past few days were due to the contamination by the lethal virus.
He added that two of the coronavirus cases spotted in Tehran who arrived in the city from Qom.
He noted that packages including face-mask and disinfectant have been distributed in Qom.
Abbasi said it is believed that people who carried to the virus to Iran and caused its spread initially arrived in Iran from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China.
He reiterated that Iran has no problem with regard to health facilities.
The severity of illness and risk of mortality of Coronavirus is less than Sars and the Middle East respiratory syndrome-related Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) which is about three percent, he added.
President Hassan Rouhani on Monday gave directives for handling issues concerning coronavirus by speeding up the procedure to stem the communicable disease.
In his phone call with governors-general of Gilan and Qom provinces, Rouhani sympathized with families of the victims of the coronavirus epidemic and urged the governors to use all facilities to make people boost confidence in the health system.

Earlier, in his decree, President Rouhani urged Iranian Health Minister Saeed Namaki to try his best and use all his power to prevent the spread of coronavirus and uproot the disease.
The committee consists of ministers of roads and urban development, interior, education, science, tourism, and culture, as well as chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, head of budget and planning organization, IRIB chief, Iran’s Attorney-General, head of pilgrimage and hajj organization, government spokesman and police chief.
The committee is expected to hold meetings, make policies in presenting services on health, treatment and pharmaceutical field, and inform people.
Turkish Health Minister Fakhruddin Koja said on Monday that Turkey stands by Iran with all means to fight coronavirus.
He made this remarks in an encounter with reporters in Turkey.
Referring to the closure of the borders of Turkish Railways and Airways with Iran, he added that following outbreak of the coronavirus in Iran, Turkey has decided to temporarily block its borders.
