Pakistan’s most popular entertainment channel Hum TV organized its most awaited event the 5th HUM Awards in Lahore.
An ensemble of stalwarts from different allied fields, ranging from broadcast community to fashion fraternity, from veteran musicians to emerging actors and from visionary directors to style gurus, were there to grace the stylized event and to witness the excellence in television programming and drama, and the fate of that beguiling golden statue in each category.
The red carpet was as happening as usual with the glaring stars and prepossessing celebrities in their best elegance and glamour and staggering fashion
The 5th HUM Awards kicked off with the international dance troupe BNF from UAE taking over the opulent stage in the hall where all that glitterati were supposed to place.
The hosts of this glittery evening were the hilarious and dedicated Yasir Hussain, good looking Mikaal Zulfiqar (who bagged the hosting of Hum Awards third time with on-stage confidence) and the stunning Hareem Farooq, the girl next door of our entertainment industry.
The energetic performances by our upcoming and prevailing stars were the spice of the night.
The 5th HUM TV Awards paid a tribute to late singer Junaid Jamshed (who passed away in a tragic plane crash) by his sons and Salman Ahmed from ‘Junoon Se’ to ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ to keep his legacy live on.
While Shahroze Sabzwari and new comer Serish Khan surprised the audience with their energetic and unsuspected performances, our love-to-dance diva Mehwish Hayat moved like a doll. Obviously Ahsan and Kubra Khan’s performance obtruded the stage with a lot of fun, and those thumkas. However, the most steamy performance of night belonged to Reema Khan who set the stage on fire as she arrived to move on the songs so gracefully!
Another musical ensemble of the night was Sajjad Ali’s live performance along with the sensational Ali Sethi, Momina Mustehsan and Asim Azhar.
A unique spot for the celebration of 5th HUM Awards was the presence of the State Minister for Information and Broadcast Marium Aurangzeb, who presented the recognition award to Pakistani films; Actor in Law, Jaanan and Mah-e-Mir. The Minister talked about her efforts for the promotion and placement of Pakistan on the cultural map of the world along with sheer attempt to consider introduction of microfinance schemes and exemption from taxes for the film makers.
Awards! The main feature of the show reminded the real interest of the audience with curiosity and thrill.
