World renowned, UK-based Pakistani opera Singer Saira Peter performed at Governor House Karachi, last night in a high profile event.
The event was attended by the dignitaries of the city where Saira mesmerized the audience with her soulful and energetic performance.
Saira Peter has also lunched her debut album “Resplendent” recently in Karachi in the presence of media and the showbiz personalities. The album is composed of Pakistani classical and opera tunes featuring the poetry of great poet of Sindh, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
Last year in November she also enthralled the audience with her unique performance. She has also performed in different countries of the world.
Talking to media, Saira Peter says, “Music is my passion and life and it’s an honour for me to perform in Pakistan.”. She is hopeful that people of Karachi like this new kind of fusion music.
Belonging to Benjamin Britten (Piano) School of Thought and a disciple of Paul Knight, Saira Peter is the first Pakistani origin singer to sing western classical music with such perfection. She has also experimented on the fusion of western and eastern classical music with a pleasant blend of tabla, piano, sarangi and various other instrumentals.
Professionally trained in the art of Western & Eastern classical singing, Saira holds masters in chemistry as well as in History from Queen Mary University London.
