Famous Host Sahir Lodhi’s debut film Raasta is due to be released on 23rd March 2017.
To promote the film, a grand concert was organized at Port Grand, Karachi to launch the music of the film.
The event was well-attended by the massive crowd of over 15,000 and bigwigs of showbiz industry including legendary star Shabnam, veteran director Syed Noor, Shabbir Jan, Shaista Lodhi and Shehroz Sabzwari, other than entire cast and crew of the film.
Raasta’s music is loaded with varied tracks and melodies. Along with great vocals of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, many others like Nabeel Shaukat, Damiya Farooqui, Sara Raza Khan and Saji Ali has also contributed to the music of the film. The film’s music was composed by Kamran Akhtar and Saji Ali whereas lyrics are penned by Sahir Lodhi and Saji Ali.
The event kicked off with a performance by famous qawal, Jamshed Sabri and fellows on maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s number from the film, Dil Faqeer.
Then, actress Esha Noor performed on ever-green songs of Malika-e-Taranam Noor Jehan, followed by another act by Sahir Lodhi’s nephew and Shaista Lodhi’s son Shafay Wahidi.
The young stars Aleena and Muhammad Ramis paid tribute to Chocolate Hero of Pakistan’s film industry, Waheed Murad in an eclectic way.
The crowd went crazy on the sizzling performance of sultry Mathira and Naveed Raza on item number from the film.
The star of the night was undoubtedly, Sahir Lodhi, as he came on stage with a thrilling performance on the mash-up of popular numbers from the film. Film leading ladies, Abeer Rizvi and Sana Fakhar also joined Sahir Lodhi during the act. Nabeel Shaukat, Damiya Farooqui and Saji Ali also sung their songs in the live concert.
To support Sahir Lodhi, his wife, adorable daughter and sister, Shaista Lodhi also graced the event with their presence.
Raasta is an action-thriller revolving around the lives of two brothers who try to bond and take revenge in the failed political system of Pakistan. The film is directed by Sahir Lodhi, produced by Moid Ul Hasan, Dr. Faisal Zia and Sahir Lodhi and co-written by Shahid Naqvi and Sahir Lodhi. The stellar cast included Aijaz Aslam, Shamoon Abbasi, Sana Fakhar, Naveed Raza, Abeer Rivzi and Sahir Lodhi.
