Pakistan’s one of the most anticipated fashion shows, Bridal Couture Week – The Gold Edition was celebrated for three days last week which showcased the latest bridal trends of Pakistan.
Hum Network managed the mega fashion event, in which stunningly beautiful and majestic stage was set for one of a kind fashion show. Like every year BCW showcased not only some of the biggest designers but also welcome the aspiring designers with talent both domestically and internationally.
The Day one of the event showcased fashion guru Fahad Hussayn with his collection Dulha Bhatti, a tribute
to the famous Rajpoot freedom fighter; Yasmeen Zaman with Undulus, an inspiration from ancient moorish aesthetics of Spain; Erum Khan with Progeny of Venus, the birth of subtlety and poise in the modern day bride; MNR Designs with Naqas-e-Zareen, the amalgamation of western cuts with eastern silhouettes, Tabassum Mughal with Return to Splendour, inspired by England’s rustic gardens and countryside; Mansoor Akram with Amina Yasmeen collection; Naushad Imdad with Eminence-IV, a look that is at once modern and timeless, and Sadia Mirza with Roses in Rain, a collection based in a dreamscape, crystalline dewdrops over the velveteen petals of a rose.
Every designer came up with stars as their show stoppers: Hadiqa Kiyani, Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hoccain glamorized the stage for Fahad Hussayn; Hira Hussain and Adnan Hussain walked for Yasmeen Zaman; Mawra Hoccain came for Erum Khan; international superstar Humaima Malik walked for Tabassum Mughal, and Sana Bucha brought her grace and style to Sadia Mirza’s collection.
The day1 also revealed the official trailer and cast of Yalgaar, with a live performance by Azfar Hussain.
The Second Day witnessed designers like Bibi London featuring Neeta Lulla and Tarun Tahiliani; Deepak n Fahad with Taajwardi that adorned the crimson tone, floral aura, magical magnetism of the gold, and the enchanting cuts; Ayesha Ibrahim with Jashn-e-Aroosi; Uzma Babar (Umsha) with Durr-e-Shevar, an ode to the last heir of the Imperial Ottoman throne, Kuki Concepts paid tribute to the old-fashioned bride, Tena Durrani with Mon Rêve, a tale of subtle romance and beauty, Fozia Hammad (Goal) with Self Portrait, couture mirrors its creator and the one and only Zainab Chotani with Daastaan, a bridal and formal collection that define every individual’s personality.
On Second day, the stars who walked as show stoppers were Hasan Rizvi, Hareem Farooq and Danish Taimor for Deepak n Fahad; Sumbul Iqbal for Ayesha Ibrahim; Tipu Sharif and Mansha Pasha for Uzma Babar; Ahsan Khan, Naveen Waqar and Mommar Rana brought his super star persona for Kuki Concepts and Ayesha Omer for Tena Durrani; Saim Ali, Ayesha Sana and Shahista Lodhi for Fozia Hammad; the cast of Mah-e-Meer, Iman Ali, Fahad Mustafa and Aly Khan for Zainab Chotani.
The third day of the event showcased the collections of: Nickie Nina with the signature style of Nickie Nina, comprising vast range of techniques, fabrics and colors; Rang Ja with MELA, an amalgamation of fun and vibrant tones, ethnic cuts and exuberant styles depicting the festive celebration; Emraan Rajput with The Royal Raj, aimed to bring the royalty back in bridal menswear and embodiment of eastern luxury featuring motifs from the Mughal Era; Aisha Imran with a mix of handicraft lehngas, ghararas and full gowns that truly represent eastern traditions; Asifa & Nabeel with Lavender Fields, an inspiration from John Knight’s poem that showcased the romance of pale bluish-purple hue and the fragile slender form of lavendula; Amir Adnan with Ceremony Collection, encapsulated statement jackets and sherwanis paired with Jodhpur-eque pajamas and gathered, tucked and rumpled luxurious shalwars; Sonya Batla with her debut for BCW, celebrated feminism and its delicate nuances comprising chiffon, silk, nets and jamawar; and the Grand Couturiers with most celebrated and prominent designers of our industry. The Grand Courtiers included Zara Shahjehan, Kamiar Rokni, Shamael Ansari, Shehrazad, Sania&Umair, Nida Azwer, Umer Sayeed and Elaan.
Third Day’s showstoppers were Zahid Ahmed, Yasir Mazhar, Agha Ali and Sammi Khan for star studded walk for Emraan Rajput; Sana Javed for Asifa and Nabeel; Junaid Khan for Rang Ja; an ensemble of superstars including Azfar Rehman, Irfan Khan, George Fulton, Noor Hassan, Fahad Mirza, Aijaz Aslam, Wiqar Ali Khan, Moamer Rana, Shehzad Shiekh, Ali Safina, Javaid Shiekh, Ahsan Khan, Adnan Siddiqui, Sarwat Gillani, Hira Tareen, Fia Khan and Eshal for Amir Adnan;, and Humayun Sayeed, Sohai Ali Abro, Dr. Jawwad and Mussarat Misbah closed the show for Sonya Batla.
Hair & make up of the event was handled by the team at Nabilas and N-Gents while the choreography and event direction was beautifully executed by Ketan Bhatia from India and jewelry by Hamna Amir. The PR was handled by BodyBeat Events & PR as well as the PR department at Hum Network.
