ISLAMABAD: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said neither Pakistan will be allowed to become a secular country nor any compromise will be made on freedom of men.
“Bill for protection of women against violence is in derogation of Quran and Sunnah and constitution of Pakistan. It is unanimous decision of all that domestic violence and uncivilised attitude should be eliminated. Protection of women bill will ruin family system,” he said while talking to media men along with religious leaders on Saturday.
A meeting of all religious parties held under Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence here Saturday. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq, Senate Deputy Speaker Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Mian Aslam, Owais Noorani, Maulana Arif Hussain Wahidi and others attended the meeting. A range of issues including women protection bill, execution of Mumtaz Qadri came under discussion during the meeting. Fazl said that all the bids to convert Pakistan into secular state and curb freedom of men will be foiled. Next meeting of all religious parties will he held in Mansoora, he announced. Commenting about the prime minister, he said, “Nawaz Sharif is neither liberal nor has he remained conservative.”
