In some cases, children often carry their bag on one shoulder leading to leaning on one side with all the weight. This particularly causes back pain and severe strain to the neck and shoulder. … Heavy backpacks cause back, neck and shoulder pain and this pain becomes worse if kids have sedentary lifestyles.
People who carry heavy backpacks sometimes lean forward. Over time this can cause the shoulders to become rounded and the upper back to become curved. Because of the heavy weight, there’s a chance of developing shoulder, neck, and back pain.
Children complained that they are directed by the class teacher and subject teachers to bring their all note books, books and work books along with their school diary.
“We are asked to bring all the books to the school. If we forget to bring any book then the teacher punishes us and makes us stand out of the class, “said Adil khan, a seventh class student at a private school in Sikandrabad.
KPK Education Minister Sharam Khan presented the School Bags bill, in order to limit the weight of school bags, before the provincial assembly. The bill was presented to implement a check and balance on the weight of schoolbags for the children.
He also said that if any public and private school did not follow the rule, the government would take strict action. They have to pay a fine up to Rs 200,000/-
The permissible weight of school bags for different age groups was prescribed in detail.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the first province to introduce such legislation. It is a big due relief for students and parents.
Heavy school bags are assumed to have deleterious effects on children. But deep thinking is required to differentiate education and accessible education, for all such process we need educational reforms in this cosmic sector. We had limited everything in this sector reading learning process and the indicators of this process.
Really sad to see what is happening in this country from the day one. Education sector is one of the biggest victims. All the education policies only focused to produce an army of unemployed instead of skilled workers. While getting my education from western country, I always think why this point of focus had been always missed by our top leadership.
Its attention needed subject of our nation, determined effective leadership required regardless of political influence & approach.
Your actions inspire others to dream more learn more, do more, and become more. Curriculum should be planned and designed to sequentially improve students’ knowledge and skills, it should be need based curriculum. Students should keenly observe to identify their interest, capabilities and skills to classify their skills and talents. Research based teaching methodologies need to be practiced for better learning outcomes. Children need homework in the shape of responsibility instead of burden .because homework is not a mere “tool” to keep a child tied to a desk and chair, even after school timings.
Classroom learning is very important for every learner of institution; teachers should let kids take skills out through their creations and happiness.
Plummeting homework will reduce the weight of bag. Positions and grades are working as scarecrow in our education pasture. Child health is more important their grades .Teachers parents and caregivers shouldn’t put their children in the race of grades leaving their mind under pressure and also yours.
I strongly believe that this country does not need to open more status co schools or universities what urgently needed is skill based technical training programs. Unless it is not done, this country by making huge addition in the already existing army of un-employed and that would be very sad. At the same time, top priority should be given to improve the quality of education and research. I am really sorry to say that at present, this country is mainly producing educated illiterates which are not capable to transport the desired results. Mushrooms growth of universities without infrastructure and capacity building will leave us all in compromised positions.

It was very painful and disappointed for me to study about the whole process of policy planning and its implementation in our country. We have fixed mindsets and control prevails. Our society is Notation and submission society and both are prevailing within our society like a custom, and cannot be challenged or questioned. Corruption and political will is deep entrenched in our every institution and in every policy formulation structure. Our fixed mindset approach is colonized and will stay always colonized.
