Pakistan politics it seems always amidst a Preptual Strom. That was an understatement by the way.
Benign media keeps this storm and some twisters going, if they are about to die or even slow down. They keep looking for the Next Big Thing, as the savior of Pakistan. In search of Next Big Thing, Pakistan after approximately every ten years sheds democracy, maybe this time around has done so without changing too much.
Coming to Next Big Thing.
Next Big Thing after Nawaz Sharif, is Imran Khan, after Zardari, is Bilawal, after Maryam, is Hamza, after TTP, it is TLP. And after print media, it is electronic media.
They were all controlled, but once out of control were changed or about to be changed. They all thought they were indispensable but they were proven wrong.
Ayub Khan, Yahyah Khan, Zia ul Haq, and Pervaiz Musharraf may be the best examples of indispensability dispensed with. Though they were eulogized more and given more time, they were eventually expanded, and that was a polite expression describing their exits.
What will replace the current lot and when is the million-dollar question? Will Imran Khan be replaced, by whom and when? Will Bilawal and Hamza, TLP, who have not been installed completely be replaced, since their predecessors have been uninstalled.
Why and who runs this installing and uninstalling business? Bill Gates certainly not to be blamed. Though he made this terminology part of our everyday vocabulary. Silly of us to blame him though. But we can blame him for this Next Big Thing phenomenon.
Everyone in Pakistan’s political software industry was or is trying to emulate Bill Gates, but they were not so lucky, obviously.
Who is Pakistan’s political Bill Gates? We all know now if there were any doubts before. Every political computer in-operation in Pakistan has its software installed by “Bill Gates”. If anyone tries to tamper with the software for his or her liking, he or she is uninstalled. In some cases deleted permanently, cannot be retrieved, ever. No matter how horrible it may sound, but the software is coded that way intentionally.
Every Next Big Thing has been replaced in Pakistan. Inevitability. Imran Khan will be replaced and he will not decide his exit. Cruel. But when?
If Pakistan’s political history is any guide, “Bill Gates” has many software updates available, and he will replace I’m the Dim software quickly, but seemingly that is the case again, somehow.
The next update is due the coming March. Between March and May, new weapons will be uploaded for the current Hero, if that euphemism is acceptable to all or many if any. Will that be enough; keeping the usage of previous tools and toll they have impacted on the current hard drive, doubtful. The update will be completed by May, and results, well, let’s see, for sure will be entertaining if not enthralling. Calibre Heroine might be available for masses for free. What an experience it promises to be. It will be tongue twister and tail wagging update at the same time for all users, depending on your expectations.
Inevitability and predictability will kick in after March. Behold. Get your game console ready you can be in for quite a ride.
