Within the framework of German Weeks 2016, a fusion concert ‘Sufi Step-Germany meets Germany’ was organized last weekend by the Goethe-Institut and the Consulate General at the Consulate German Consulate.
A large number of people showed up at the concert from various backgrounds.
The sufi fusion was played by German musician Viktor Marek and Pakistani Sitar Player Ashraf Sharif Khan.
Viktor Marek, also known as ‘The carpet’ is a musician and the manager of the “Golden Poodle Club” in Hamburg. Marek is a master of the small details in music from blinking drum computers and samplers and also pines in a rhythm with his voice. Ashraf Sharif Khan is the son of the Asian sitar master Ustad Muhammad Sharif Khan Poonchwala. His music combines an astounding technical proficiency with an accomplished artist’s striving for perfection in musical expression that transcends regional boundaries, and is accessible to all. .
