DHAKA (Web Desk) – United Arab Emirates (UAE) skipper Amjad Javed won the toss against Pakistan, captained by Shahid Afridi, in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2016 on Monday and decided to bat first, reported Dunya News.
Wahab Riaz was rested for this match and Mohammad Nawaz made his T20 debut for Pakistan in this game.
Pakistani bowlers started off the innings quite well grabbing quick wickets early-on but the UAE middle-order played sensibly, hitting the occassional deliveries out of the park as well. Pakistani bowlers did somewhat struggle at the end of the innings to grab some wickets, they did restrict the flow of runs at a point. UAE played their 20 overs and lost 6 wickets whilst giving a total of 130 to Pakistan to chase.
Pakistan lost quick wickets early-on in their innings but Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik batted with utmost determination. Both scored classy fifties and played some aggressive shots towards the end of the game. A 100 run partnership between the two saw the Men in Green defeat UAE comfortably by 7 wickets in hand with 8 balls to spare.
